Yesterday morning I had a small window of opportunity to walk my dog, Buddy, but I was in resistance! I really did not want to go for a walk. I was tired and I just wanted to stay home. However, Buddy was not tired and he was giving me the look!
So I made myself do it and, as we set out on the walk, I started to talk to myself about how fortunate I am to be able to walk him. This led to a meditative walk of giving thanks and by the time I got home I felt a million times better. Buddy had assisted me in some self-healing!
As we approach Thanksgiving this week, I would like to share just some of the many things for which I am thankful.
I can breathe in and out.
I can call upon my senses to experience the beauty in the world around me.
I am not oppressed.
I am not imprisoned.
I have freedom of speech. I can express my views without fear of reprisal.
I have freedom of choice. I can choose my friends, my family, my religion, my faith, my politics.
I can allow others the same freedom.
I have the right to vote.
I can say NO.
I can believe that good outweighs bad.
I can choose to see the cup half full rather than half empty.
I can choose to look for and see the good in all people.
I can love myself and others.
I have the ability to heal myself and to assist others in healing themselves.
I can say hello to God.
I can meditate.
I can create and I can let go.
I can give and I can receive.
I have the ability and the information I need to solve my problems and overcome the challenges that face me.
I am a living, breathing, sentient being.
I have the freedom to be myself.
I have the freedom to BE!
What are you thankful for? Even if you are currently facing serious challenges, digging deep may uncover some hidden blessings and help in breaking through the layer of negativity you are experiencing.
I invite you to exercise your right to some self-healing by giving thanks.
